The Chargers have given Philip Rivers a new contract.
The extension is for six years and is worth $92 million, sources told ESPN's Len Pasquarelli.
Rivers would have been a free agent after the season and about $38-39 million of the money is guaranteed.
RealGM Note: Rivers was ranked 5th in season FIC amongst quarterbacks in 2008 and 'deserved' to make $12M.
