The Kansas City Chiefs picked up their first win of 2012, defeating the now 0-3 New Orleans Saints 27-24 in overtime at the Superdome.

The Chiefs had a +4.8 advantage in The Trench Counter, with 13 more first downs and averaging 0.6 more yards per play. Kansas City had a +32 edge in Total Rushes/Completions.

The Chiefs turned the ball over three times, but moved the ball fairly well. Kansas City went 7-for-18 on third down and 2-for-2 on fourth down.

Matt Cassel went 26-for-44 for 248 yards, but it was Jamaal Charles' explosive 33 carries for 233 yards and a 91-yard run that helped the Chiefs move the ball.

The Chiefs also recorded a safety when Justin Houston sacked Drew Brees to push the game to 24-21 in the final six minutes of the fourth quarter.

Brees went 2-for-36 for 240 yards with three touchdowns and an interception.
