The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Green Bay Packers 30-22, behind a great ground game on offense and a stifling performance from the defense against the potent Aaron Rodgers offense.

The 49ers had a +11.3 advantage in the Trench Counter, averaging 5.8 yards per rush and 7.3 yards per pass, which were both significantly better than the Packers.

Frank Gore rushed for 112 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown, while Kendall Hunter had 41 yards on nine carries.

Alex Smith went 20-for-26 for 211 yards and two touchdowns, including a 14-yard pass to Randy Moss. 

NaVorro Bowman had an excellent 11 total tackles, two pass deflections and an interception for the 49ers.

Aaron Rodgers went 30-for-44 for 303 yards and a touchdown to go with an interception, but never found his rhythm.
