The New York Jets responded to a lot of preseason critics by defeating the Buffalo Bills by a final score of 48-28, as they had a 41-7 lead deep into the third quarter.

The Jets had a +7.2 advantage in the Trench Counter, averaging 9.9 yards per play passing compared to just 6.1 for the Bills, while also having a +3 turnover differential.

Mark Sanchez went 19-for-27 for 266 yards, three touchdowns and one interceptions. Tim Tebow was on the field for just nine plays on offense.

Stephen Hill connected with Sanchez for two touchdowns, catching five receptions for 89 yards overall.

Ryan Fitzpatrick went 18-for-32 for 195 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. C.J. Spiller rushed for 169 yards on 14 carries, as Fred Jackson suffered a sprained LCL.
