Brett Favre and Packers' head Coach Mike McCarthy talked for several hours on Monday night about the quarterback's future with the team, according to The Green Bay Press Gazette. The pair's conversation started around 6:00 p.m. and wasn't finished around 8:45 p.m., forcing the Packers to cancel a press conference scheduled for 8:15 p.m. to announce whether Favre would be allowed to compete for the team's starting job. "They?re still talking, and I don?t know how much longer it?s going to go," Jeff Blumb, the Packers? director of public relations, told a large crowd at the team's media auditorium on Monday night. "What does it mean? It just means that they?re still talking. Rather than keeping everyone here until we don?t know how long, as a courtesy to you guys, we?ve decided we?re just going to try again tomorrow."
