Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Khalif Barnes was sentenced Thursday to six months' probation and ordered to perform community service following the settlement of his DUI case in Jacksonville, Fla. Barnes, a third-year veteran and starter on the left side of the Jags' line, also has apologized for his obscenity-marked tirade against the arresting police officer. The resolution of Barnes' case was first reported by the Florida Times-Union and confirmed by a court clerk and a spokesman for the Jacksonville police. Barnes, who pleaded no contest to drunken-driving charges, was ordered by Judge James Ruth to pay $650 in fines and court costs and to perform 50 hours of community service.
