The Denver Broncos have released Russell Wilson, something they needed to do before March 17 to avoid his $37 million salary becoming guaranteed for the 2025 season.

The Broncos designated the move as a post-June 1 release. Releasing Wilson carries an $85 million cap charge, which the team will spread over two years. They've opted to absorb $53 million in 2024 and $32 million in 2025.

Wilson has already agreed to join the Pittsburgh Steelers.
