The Washington Commanders traded away two of their top talents on Tuesday, but they insist they aren't punting on their season.

One day after trading defensive ends Montez Sweat and Chase Young, Ron Rivera said, "We have an opportunity to go out and play well. I do think there's every opportunity in front of us. ... It's an opportunity to see what else we have. It's an opportunity to go out and win football games using different guys."

The Commanders, though, have lost five of their last six games entering Sunday's game at the New England Patriots.

Washington traded both pending free agents for draft picks. Sweat and Young had combined for 11.5 sacks this season, putting each one on pace for their career best total.
