The man who once protected Johnny Unitas, Hall of Fame lineman Jim Parker, died Monday of congestive heart failure and kidney disease at a nursing home in Columbia, Md at the ate of 71. The 6-foot-3, 275 pound Parker spent 10 years as a lineman for the Indianapolis Colts. ''As Johnny's protector, Jim was second to none," said former Colts running back Lenny Moore, the Hall of Famer who ran amok in Mr. Parker's wake. ''If Jim got through the line, I'd be right on his hip because I knew he'd clear out the area."
