The San Francisco 49ers have narrowed down their head coaching candidates to Adam Gase and Jim Tomsula.

The 49ers have interviewed a number of other candidates, including Mike Shanahan and Vic Fangio, but have zeroed in on Gase and Tomsula.

Tomsula was always believed to be the top 49ers' internal candidate.
