Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported Brandon Browner had agreed upon a two-year deal with the New England Patriots.

Browner's agent, Peter Schaffer, told Adam Schefter that he remains in talks with four teams and he's not close to a deal yet. Rapoport has responded that Browner has spread word to those close to him that a deal has been agreed upon with the Patriots.

Browner also spoke to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

“It’s 100 percent untrue,” Schaffer told PFT by phone, moments after the report landed on Twitter.  “I’ve got four teams to negotiate with.  I’ve got irresponsible journalists who don’t check their facts putting this stuff out there, and my phone is blowing up when I’m trying to play hockey.”
