The Carolina Panthers will leave the Charlotte area on Tuesday to practice for the reminder of the week in Bradenton, Florida as the Democratic National Convention gets underway.

“They got the helicopters, just like back home in L.A. during the daytime. So I’m real familiar with this,” Steve Smith said. “Policemen walking around, doesn’t bother me one bit.”

The Panthers play at the Buccaneers in Week 1.

Their headquarters will be IMG Academies.

“We’re doing a good job of leaving the madness. And it’s going to be like camp,” linebacker Jon Beason said. “Guys are staying in a hotel, you have a lot of down time to spend with each other, so there are benefits with that.”
