Marcus Stroud signed a one-day contract with the Jaguars on Wednesday before announcing his retirement.
A first-round draft pick from Georgia in 2001, Stroud spent seven years in Jacksonville.
"That's where I started my career, I consider Jacksonville like my second home," Stroud told the Florida Times-Union.
"That's where my quote unquote football family is based. That's where I felt like I gained my notoriety. That's where I've always been at heart. I was a Jaguar from Day 1, and I'll be a Jaguar now."
Traded to Buffalo in 2008, Stroud had 150 tackles and 7½ sacks in three seasons with the Bills.
