The 49ers officially announced the signing of cornerback Will James to a one-year deal. James was given No. 31, the number worn by Dre' Bly wore last season for the 49ers. Meanwhile, undrafted rookie cornerback Patrick Stoudamire has been given Walt Harris' No. 27. Of course, the fact that their numbers have been usurped isn't a sure sign that Bly and Harris, both of whom are free agents, will never be 49ers again.
