Cardinals general manager Rod Graves said that the club is unlikely to agree to a contract extension with linebacker Karlos Dansby before next week's deadline. Arizona placed their franchise tag on Dansby, which means the two sides must come to terms on a long-term extension by July 15, or the linebacker will be forced to play under the one-year franchise tender in 2009. "We still hope to reach an agreement on a long-term deal with Karlos," Graves said. "But there is a considerable gap in our positions."
