Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington isn't worried about competition at his position this season. Chad Henne could challenge for the starting job, and Pennington has just one year left on his contract. "It's a good situation to be in," Pennington said Saturday. "I'm not really concerned about it. To me, it's never really a true competition until it happens on Sunday. "[Practice is] preparation and evaluation. We have to be prepared to play and be ready as players. Coaches have to evaluate and see who they want to play. Competition happens on Sunday." Pennington also realizes that the success Miami had last season won't mean anything this fall. "In this league, it's what are you going to do the next game, the next year," he said. "I had a really good offseason and feel real good about my preparation. Chad's doing a really good job and I feel like we made some progress."
