The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms today with K Rob Bironas on a multi-year contract. ?We are happy to get this deal done,? said Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt. ?Rob has worked hard to establish himself as one of the best all-around kickers in the NFL and I would expect that to continue in the years to come.? Entering his fifth season, Bironas has become one of the elite kickers in the NFL. Since entering the league, he has become the fifth most accurate kicker in NFL history (min. of 100 field goals made) by hitting 84.5% percent of his attempts. He also ranks fifth in the NFL over the past four seasons with 59 touchbacks on kickoffs. Bironas etched his name atop the NFL record book for the most field goals in a game with eight against Houston (Dec. 2) in 2007, and appears throughout the franchise record book. An All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection following the 2007 season, Bironas holds the club record for longest field goal (60 yards), most field goals in a game (8), most consecutive games with a field goal (19) and most consecutive field goals (20, tied with Al Del Greco). Last season, Bironas was 29 of 33 on field goal attempts and tallied 127 points. The Titans originally signed Bironas as a free agent in 2005.
