Dan Quinn figures to be one of the NFL's leading head coaching candidates again this offseason with how well the Seattle Seahawks' defense has played again this season.

“When the time comes, I feel I’ll be ready to take that step,’’ Quinn told Peter King. “What’s great about coaching for Pete is that a lot of [head] coaches do all they can to keep their staffs together—Pete wants you to get ready to take a [head-coaching] job.”

Quinn is 44 and has been defensive coordinator of the Seahawks since 2013 when Gus Bradley left for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
