Green Bay Packers president Mark Murphy traveled to Hattiesburg, Miss., for a Wednesday morning meeting with Brett Favre and his agent, James "Bus" Cook. The meeting between Murphy and the Favre camp comes a day after Favre faxed his request for reinstatement to the league office, following through on the statements made during the offseason that he wanted to end his brief retirement. League spokesman Randall Liu confirmed through The Associated Press that the NFL had received the request, which was earlier reported by NFL Network's Adam Schefter. "It's obviously the first step in Brett coming back, but we'll deal with that once he is reinstated," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. "We'll definitely have a plan in order. ... We'll address everything, as far as the details about how Brett Favre fits into our future plans, when he arrives here in Green Bay."
