Tony Sparano was the first coach at the Cowboys' Valley Ranch facility on Sunday morning. Fresh off a weekend of interviews for vacancies in Atlanta, Miami and Baltimore, the assistant head coach had turned his attention to his team's next game. Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett interviewed with Atlanta and Baltimore as well. "The most important thing right now is what we do here with the Dallas Cowboys," Sparano said. "It was nice to get out and to be able to talk with them. I thank [owner and general manager Jerry Jones] and coach Wade Phillips for allowing me the opportunity to do that, but I was the first person in the office and I didn't get home until midnight. I couldn't wait to get in here and get back to work." The New Haven (Conn.) Register, citing an unidentified source, said Sparano was offered and accepted the Dolphins position. However, Sparano, who coached at the University of New Haven, said an offer was not made by general manager Jeff Ireland, the former Cowboys vice president of college and pro scouting. The Dolphins have interviews scheduled for today and Tuesday with potential candidates.
