UCLA has contacted Tennessee Titans'Offensive Coordinator Norm Chow and invited him to interview for its vacant head coaching position as soon as this weekend. The news was first reported by The Los Angeles Times on its Web site on Wednesday night and confirmed to ESPN's Joe Schad by a person briefed on the school's plans. Schad Wednesday also confirmed that UCLA, through intermediaries, has attempted to gauge the interest of BYU Coach Bronco Mendenhall. Chow, 61, has spent the past three seasons as offensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans, where in 2006 he helped mold top draft pick Vince Young into a quarterback so successful he was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
