NFL officials have discussed the possibility of having Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick take a leave of absence to deal with his legal troubles, sources familiar with the discussions said yesterday. One source, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the NFL's leaders have not commented publicly on the case, called the conversations preliminary and said it was not clear whether Vick would be receptive to the idea. But officials with the Falcons and the league are sorting through their options and a leave of absence was one of the possibilities discussed, the source said.
