Roger Goodell will finalize a multi-year contract extension to remain as commissioner of the NFL at next week's owners meetings in Phoenix.

Goodell became commissioner in 2006 and this is his fourth extension.

The economic framework of Goodell's new deal is not known but is expected to be incentive-laden.

Some believe this will be Goodell's final deal with the NFL as he's now 64. Pete Rozelle stepped down from the job when he was 63, and Paul Tagliabue walked away when he was 65.
