Cincinnati Bengals assistant Al Golden has agreed to become the defensive coordinator of Notre Dame, according to sources.

He'll receive a three-year deal that should be finalized in the coming days.

Golden spent 10 years as a college head coach from 2006 to 2015, going 59-59 during stints at Temple and Miami.

Golden, 52, has spent the past six years as an NFL assistant with the Detroit Lions and the Bengals.
