The Jets have begun negotiations to bring cornerback Ty Law to New York. This coming after Law expressed interest in playing for Jets? coach Herman Edwards. Though Law hasn't spoken personally with Edwards since early in free agency, the four-time Pro Bowl cornerback has continued to relay his preference to sign with the Jets through various channels. Jets running back Curtis Martin spoke with Law recently but declined to disclose the nature of those conversations. "It's just that we're friends, so we talk every once in a while," Martin said yesterday. "I'm not going to talk about his business. You know how I feel."
