The NFL is considering a number of contingencies due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In one scenario being discussed, the start of the season could be delayed up to five weeks with relatively few adjustments. Super Bowl LV in Tampa would be pushed back by three weeks from Feb. 7, 2021.

Two weeks of early season games could be shifted wholesale to the end of the season with a third week featuring teams only playing opponents with the same bye week so byes could be eliminated league wide.

The Pro Bowl could also be canceled to play the Super Bowl during the Sunday immediately after the Conference Championship games.

The NFL could delay the start of the season by as late as Oct. 15th, which would typically be Week 6 and still play a 16-game season that ends in February.
