Malcolm Jenkins made it clear on Monday that he won't play for the Philadelphia Eagles next season if he's still under his current contract.

"I won't be back on the same deal. That won't happen," the safety said.

Jenkins, 32, is entering the final year of a four-year, $35 million deal. He is scheduled to make $7.6 million, but the market for safeties has shifted. Earl Thomas and Landon Collins have contracts averaging around $14 million annually.

He uncharacteristically skipped voluntary workouts in the spring but was in attendance for mandatory activities and put all public contract-related talk aside as the season approached.
