Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a four-year, $140 million contract extension that makes him the highest-paid player in the NFL.

Wilson will also receive a $65 million signing bonus.

Wilson is contractually tied to the Seahawks through the 2023 season.

Wilson's annual average of $35 million per season eclipses Aaron Rodgers' extension signed last year. Rodgers earns $33.5 million per season and had a $57.5 million signing bonus.

Wilson's deal also includes a no trade clause.

"Hey Seattle, we got a deal," a sleepy-sounding Wilson says while lying in bed next to his wife Ciara. "Go Hawks. But I'ma see ya'll in the morning. Time for ya'll to go to bed."
