The NFL is likely to select the Chicago Bears hosting the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 5 as their Thursday Night kickoff game for 2019.

The game would be the first since 2006 to not feature the Super Bowl champion.

The New England Patriots will likely instead host the NFL's first Sunday Night Football game instead.

The Bears-Packers game would help the NFL kickoff its 100th season celebration as the league's oldest rivalry.
