The Green Bay Packers say Aaron Rodgers won't have a say in picking the team's next coach.

Mark Murphy said as much Monday, one day after the Packers fired Mike McCarthy during his 13th season.

"Obviously, he's free to provide input and talk to us," Murphy said of Rodgers. "But he's not going to be a part of the process. ... The other thing I would say, Aaron was no part at all in the decision to move on from Mike."

Joe Philbin is serving as Green Bay's interim coach.
