Doug Pederson shut down questions about his quarterback situation on Sunday, but did reveal that Carson Wentz has not yet been cleared for contact with the season just a few days away.

It was reported on Saturday that Nick Foles would start for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1.

"First of all, I appreciate y'all putting words in my mouth this week. Therefore, I'm not going to discuss [who the quarterback will be]," Pederson said.

Philadelphia's season opener comes just shy of nine months since Wentz tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee.

"I don't know how many times I can answer this question," the coach said. "When they clear him, he'll be cleared."
