David Johnson will skip the Arizona Cardinals' mandatory minicamp this week as he attempts to get a new contract.

The two sides have held discussions on an extension this offseason.

Johnson is due to make $1.8 million this season, and the team can franchise him in 2019 and 2020.

Johnson became a first-team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler after rushing for 1,239 yards and finishing with 879 receiving yards, all while scoring 20 touchdowns during the 2016 season.
