Jerry Jones is threatening to sue the NFL and several of his fellow owners over negotiations on Roger Goodell's contract negotations.

Jones told the six owners on the league’s compensation committee last week that he had hired David Boies, the high-profile lawyer under fire in the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment case.

Jones' dispute with Goodell is centered the suspension of Ezekiel Elliott.

The intraleague battle is unusual for a organization that prides itself on order and unanimity.

There is also the ongoing issue of players protesting during the national anthem.
