The Kansas City Chiefs are finalizing a five-year, $41.25 million extension with Laurent Duvernay-Tardif.

A sixth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Duvernay-Tardif has started 30 games over the past two years after essentially redshirting as a rookie.

Duvernay-Tardif has become one of the NFL's best run blockers at right guard.

Duvernay-Tardif is also a medical student at McGill University in Montreal.
