Jamaal Charles has played in only eight games over the past two seasons due to knee injuries, but he wants to continue his playing career in 2017.

The Kansas City Chiefs could save over $6 million under the cap by releasing Charles.

“He’s working like the dickens to get himself ready for ’17,” John Dorsey said, via Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star. “We’ll see what happens in March, but right now I see him as a Chief.”

Kansas City would surely like to renegotiate their contract with Charles.
