The New York Jets pulled Ryan Fitzpatrick in favor of Bryce Petty on Monday night and will start Petty in the final four games of the season.

The Jets (3-9) have lost four straight after losing 41-10 to the Indianapolis Colts.

"The plan was for us to start him the last four games anyway, so we just started a half early," Bowles said of Petty. "We could have won 45-0, and he was going to start the last four games. That's the slot we had penciled in for him. That's a good time to take a look at him."

Bowles said he isn't sure if the No. 2 quarterback will be Fitzpatrick or rookie Christian Hackenberg, who has yet to dress for a game.
