Scot McCloughan has left the Seattle Seahawks to attend to a personal matter.

McCloughan was the Seahawks' senior personnel executive and is credited for having a big role in finding many of the key players of their core.

McCloughan was general manager John Schneider's right-hand man. McCloughan led Seattle's scouting group.

McCloughan had a similar role with the San Francisco 49ers, staring in 2006, before being named GM in 2008. He helped draft top players that include running back Frank Gore, linebacker Patrick Willis and tight end Vernon Davis.
