Richard Sherman believes the best way for the Seattle Seahawks to show their appreciation for him is in the form of a new contract.

"Whatever they feel I am due. I will take it as respect," Sherman told NFL Network. "It's all about respect in this game and the only way people show respect is the dollars. We'll see what happens."

Contract negotiations between the Seahawks and the Pro Bowl cornerback are ongoing, but the sides still have a ways to go.

Sherman is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is scheduled to make $1.4 million this season.
