The Cleveland Browns have reached a deal to hire Mike Pettine as head coach.

Pettine was defensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills.

Dan Quinn had remained under consideration for the job.

Pettine met three times with the Browns during the interview process.

Pettine's mentor in the NFL has been Rex Ryan during their time together with the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets.
