The NFL has attempted to limit the number of hits to the head that occur in the game, but a review conducted by the AP found that they remain prevalent.

Quarterbacks (40) and receivers (38) shared the brunt of illegal hits almost equally, with players at other positions absorbing the other 15 blows.

The finding shows that at least one player is in jeopardy during a hit in every game.
