Former NFL head coach Jon Gruden is in talks to return to the Raiders, Pro Football Weekly reported on Tuesday.

The report comes a day after the current coach, Dennis Allen, left the team to attend the funeral of his father.

In the past week, reports have surfaced about the Allen's job being in jeopardy.

Gruden coached in Oakland from 1998-2001, compiling a 38-26 record.
