According to athletic director Bob Bowlsby, Stanford has given head coach Jim Harbaugh a proposal for a new deal "and he's indicated he plans to accept it." Bowlsby wouldn't give any details of the proposal but said, "I expect he'll be our coach for the foreseeable future. ... I think he's happy and we're happy." Stanford went 1-11 in 2006 in the season before Harbaugh arrived. The Cardinal will play Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl.
