Giants wide receiver Steve Smith wants to negotiate a contract extension after the season. Agent Ralph Cindrich told the New York Daily News he's informed the Giants that the receiver wants a contract extension and they plan to press the issue this offseason. Smith has 90 catches for 1,093 yards and six touchdowns this season. "He wants to be a part of it," Cindrich said. "He's with an organization that can win. He's got a great quarterback. You always have a chance to go all the way and he can hit all his goals there. I know there are some issues up in the air, but if you have a chance to lock guys up, you lock guys up. "Especially with a player like this."
