The United National Gridiron League has announced that the Ohio Marauders will be its third of eight teams to begin play in the professional developmental football league's inaugural 2010 season. The Marauders, who will be based in the Akron/Cleveland area, will be joined by the Alabama Blackbirds (Birmingham), Miami Scorchers and teams soon to be announced in Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. "Although our inaugural season teams will be primarily in the south, we could not pass up the opportunity to have a team in Ohio considering the incredible passion and enthusiasm shown by its many football fans," explained Marvin Tomlin, UNGL co-founder.
