The San Diego Chargers made public their signing of defensive tackle Jamal Williams to a $27.5 million over the next six years. "This deal as it relates to his age is a good one," said his agent, Jim Steiner. Williams, scheduled to be a free agent at the end of the season, was a second-round supplemental pick in 1998. He battled injuries during his first five seasons, missing 24 games. Williams has been considered one of the most dominating interior defenders when he's healthy and the past two seasons he has been healthy and dominating.
