Vikings' quarterback Tarvaris Jackson tore apart the Cardinals on Sunday, throwing four touchdowns on 11-for-17 passing, but coach Brad Childress isn't ready to name him the starter.
"Do not even go there," Childress said. "It's a nice luxury to have, two guys, and we said all the way along that you're probably going to need a couple to get it done."
Childress benched Jackson in Week 2 in favor of Gus Frerotte.
"That's what you envision, as a starting quarterback in the National Football League," Childress said. "I keep going back to the Denver game last year, when I thought he did a little bit of everything.
"It's just about the consistency and standard of performance. And next week it'll be, 'What have you done for me lately?' This will be old news."
