Bills running back C.J. Spiller had a disappointing rookie season and the first four games of his sophomore effort haven't been much better. Despite his lack of production, he remains confident. "I know I can play in this league," Spiller said. "I'm not letting my confidence shoot down because I'm not getting the touches. I know what I'm capable of doing, what type of player I am. I'm not for one second thinking that I can't play running back in the NFL, so whenever I get my opportunity I'm going to take advantage of it." When Spiller was picked No. 9 overall in the 2010 draft, Buffalo coach Chan Gailey and general manager Buddy Nix couldn't stop gushing over what a dynamic playmaker Spiller was at Clemson. More than a year into his career, Spiller has struggled to learn how to run effectively against NFL defenses, he really hasn't figured out how to operate as a receiver from the slot, and his pass protection and blitz pick-up is well below average.
