Sidestepping the San Diego City Council, the Chargers plan to take their proposal for a new stadium directly to the voters. Their aim, to get their initiative on the 2006 ballot.
The Chargers' proposal calls for a $450 million Super Bowl-quality stadium to be built on the Qualcomm site, with the current stadium torn down when the new one is completed.
