Lions Can Now Release Julian Peterson
Aug 6, 2014 3:40 PM
Monday marks the first day in which the Lions can release linebacker Julian Peterson if they so choose.
Detroit has already told Peterson that he won't return to the team next season.
The Lions acquired Peterson two years ago in a trade with the Seahawks that sent Cory Redding (who is now with the Ravens) and a fifth-round draft pick to Seattle.
He is owed more than $16 million over two years.
