Chiefs coach Todd Haley has apologized for refusing to shake hands with Broncos coach Josh McDaniels after Kansas City's blowout loss on Sunday.
Haley says he probably let the emotions of the situation get to him, adding, "And I apologize. I apologize to the fans and to Denver and to Josh."
"I do believe in doing what's right and that was not right," Haley said.
The Broncos roared to a 35-0 lead in Sunday's first half and went on to beat the Chiefs 49-29.
After the game, McDaniels ran toward Haley for the traditional handshake. But Haley pulled his hand away and pointed at McDaniels.
